The Laughter Yoga session held on Sunday, 24 November 2024 at the Central Stage area was an energising and uplifting event, led by Commodore (retd) Ashok Sawhney, the ambassador and founder of the Laughter Yoga club.
The session also featured the participation of Commodore Sawhney’s dedicated team members. The club, which was established in 2014 in Noida, draws inspiration from Dr. Madan Kataria’s pioneering Laughter Yoga approach, which combines laughter with yoga techniques to promote mental and physical wellbeing.
The event was a lively and engaging experience, with attendees learning about the therapeutic benefits of laughter. Commodore Sawhney and his team shared how laughter can effectively reduce stress, enhance mood, and even promote healing for the mind and body.
This approach, Commodore Sawhney and his team explained, makes it one of the simplest and most enjoyable ways to stay healthy.
The session included a fun and interactive ‘Ho Ho Ha Ha’ laughter yoga dance, which added an element of playfulness and community spirit. Organized by Simmi ji from the Motivation and Counselling Group, the event saw a diverse group of over 50 residents, including children, come together to participate in the activity.
This event is part of the club’s ongoing efforts to promote wellness in the community. The Laughter Yoga club conducts daily morning sessions, open to people of all ages, helping the practice grow and attract more members interested in its positive impact on health.
It was a wonderful demonstration of how laughter can foster connection, joy, and well-being for people of all generations.
