Brigadier Vijay Atray, a renowned author from Ram Vihar, has achieved the rare feat of writing three inspirational books that have captivated numerous readers. A veteran of the Indian Army, Brigadier Atray joined the Army in 1965 after completing his B.Tech from BIT Ranchi. He had a distinguished career spanning over 30 years in the Corps of Engineers.
His literary journey began with “Miles To Go Before I Sleep,” a travelogue that recounts his experiences within India and abroad. This book struck a chord with readers and motivated him to write more. His second book, “Bharat – That Is India – Through My Eyes,” is an abridged chronicle about India, a country he passionately loves ¹.
Brigadier Atray’s third book, “ZEST- Challenges Of The Physically Challenged,” was launched on November 6, 2024, at AVI Club in Noida. The book aims to inspire and motivate the youth of India who have physical disabilities. It delves into the problems and challenges they face, highlighting how they have overcome obstacles to lead meaningful lives. The book is divided into seven parts, covering topics such as the history of Paralympics, differently abled achievers, and the making of a Paralympian.
The book launch was attended by several dignitaries, including General Manoj Pandey (Retd), PVSM, AVSM, VSM, and his wife, Dr. Archana Pandey. Brigadier Atray’s son, Shalabh Atray, also attended the event and shared his thoughts about the book. The presence of Miss Priya Bhargava, a proud paraplegic and Miss Global International Wheelchair, added inspiration to the event.
Brigadier Atray’s work has been widely appreciated for its dedication and hard work. His books have not only touched but also moved and influenced many lives. We look forward to his future works and wish him “Happy Writing.”
