In our fast-paced lives, it is easy to lose touch with the simple yet profound values that shape our humanity. For Meenakshi (Silver City) rediscovering her compassion for animals brought a deeper sense of purpose to her life — a journey that began in childhood and evolved into a selfless mission to care for stray dogs.
Raised in a family where love for animals was a core value, Meenakshi’s mother taught her to cherish and care for all living beings. However, as life unfolded, academic pursuits, marriage, and family responsibilities took center stage, leaving little room for her childhood lessons. Yet, beneath the surface, the seed of compassion lay dormant, waiting to sprout.
The turning point came when Bruno, her beloved pet dog, entered her life. Spending time with him reignited her love for animals and reminded her of the voiceless creatures struggling for survival on the streets. Seeing their plight — the hunger, the thirsty with lack of care — she felt a calling that could no longer be ignored. Meenakshi decided to act.
Her mission began with a simple yet powerful step: feeding stray dogs. What started as a small initiative quickly grew into a life-altering commitment. Today, she prepares 28 kilograms of rice daily, dedicating six hours each day to feeding nearly 200 stray dogs.
But her compassion does not end there. Meenakshi ensures these dogs receive medical care when they fall ill, organizing treatments and sterilizations to improve their quality of life. She emphasizes that these animals, often ignored or mistreated, rely on us for survival. They, too, deserve love, care, and dignity.
Meenakshi’s journey is a testament to the difference one person can make when driven by empathy. “We all live for ourselves,” she reflects, “but we should also do something for those who are completely dependent on us.”
Her work reminds us of our shared responsibility to care for those who cannot speak for themselves. Meenakshi has taken the first step, but the journey requires collective effort. She invites others to join her in improving the lives of these voiceless souls, ensuring they no longer go hungry or unnoticed.
As a community, let’s stand together and support her noble cause. If you would like to contribute to Meenakshi’s initiative or learn more about how you can help, please contact her on 9650658812.
