Residents hoping the same for other parks
Development of parks has been a key area of concern in Sec A Pkt B, Vasant Kunj, wherein MCD manpower is a big constraint. To overcome this, Gazebo initiated a self-help group a year ago to make the park clean.
The exercise was carried out for about six months, but the results were dismal. The main eyesore was a Dhalao adjacent to the parking lot, which was never cleared. The other constraints were enormity of size, paucity of funds, a lesser participation, and inadequacy of resources.
These constraints were somehow removed in Blackberry Park, a few months later. The USP of the park was a small size, adequate sunshine, and pooling of funds by residents. They got rid of green waste, did landscaping, planted, and watered the plants. They also hired private mali / procured water tankers when MCD water was unavailable.
Then came the help from the Councillior Rekha Chaudhary. She advised carpet grass to be laid. The park has come off well and became a picturesque spot for residents. After completion, residents are holding functions in the park, which are keenly participated. Recently, she advised the removal of Dhalao from Gazebo, which has soothed nerves, and residents look forward to further development in all parks.
