On the evening of Sunday, 27 October, the residents of Boulevard were treated to a spiritually enriching celebration organized by the local devotees of ISKCON Noida.
The event, marking the festival of Deepotsav, included a captivating Kirtan and a heartfelt stage drama depicting the Krishna Damodar Leela.
This devotional evening drew widespread participation from the residents, who enjoyed an evening of bhakti and togetherness.
The highlight of the evening was the Kirtan, where devotional songs were sung to the rhythm of traditional instruments, creating an atmosphere of pure devotion and joy. The sounds of chanting, combined with the energy of the crowd, added to the spiritual aura of the event.
The residents were deeply moved by the soulful renditions, which reminded everyone of the power of communal worship and the significance of the holy month of Kartik.
Following the Kirtan, the stage was set for a dramatization of the beloved Krishna Damodar Leela, a story cherished in the Vaishnava tradition. The performance portrayed Lord Krishna’s playful childhood pastime of being bound by his mother, Yashoda, a beautiful metaphor of the Supreme Lord being bound by the love and devotion of his devotees.
The performers, many of whom were residents of the society, brought the tale to life, captivating the audience with their sincere portrayal of this divine story.
The event took place during Kartik, a month considered one of the most auspicious in the Vaishnava calendar. Known as the month of Damodar, Kartik is a time when devotees focus on deepening their spiritual practices, especially by performing Kirtan, offering lamps, and reflecting on Lord Krishna’s divine pastimes.
Observing these rituals, particularly the Damodar Leela, holds great significance for devotees as it is believed that Krishna reciprocates the love of His devotees in profound ways during this period.
The event was not only a religious gathering but also a social and cultural platform that fostered unity and spiritual awareness among the residents. Both young and old participated with enthusiasm, lighting oil lamps in honour of the divine festivities, a practice that symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and devotion over ignorance.
With its vibrant blend of music, drama, and devotion, the evening left a lasting impact on the community, strengthening the bond between the devotees and the residents. The successful organization of such events reflects ISKCON Noida’s commitment to spreading the timeless teachings of Bhakti Yoga and bringing people together through the common goal of spiritual upliftment.
As the holy month of Kartik continues, it is expected that more such celebrations will keep the flame of devotion alive in the hearts of the residents, guiding them towards greater spiritual fulfilment.
