Oil India Flats Have Been Demolished

A 15-A resident have observed that a major demolition project of oil India flats is underway. Dr Anupma Bhardwaj visited the site and had a conversation with DGM Dr. Dhiraj Chandra Bharali to understand more about the project.

Anupma began, “This is a big project!”

Dr Dhiraj replied, “Yes, this is indeed a massive undertaking. In the first phase, we will demolish two blocks and reconstruct them. There are a total of five buildings, with eight flats in each building. In total, we have 40 blocks and 40 servant quarters. Initially, we will demolish and reconstruct two blocks. Once the reconstruction is complete, the residents of the remaining blocks will be shifted to the newly constructed buildings. Then, the demolition and reconstruction of the other buildings will take place. This entire project is expected to take about four years.”

Anupma asked, “Will you be adding anything new to the old structure?

Dr. Dhiraj responded, “Yes, we will be making several improvements. The new structures will include stilt parking, lifts, and a 6-meter-wide peripheral road around the entire compound. This road will serve as a walking track and also provide access for firefighting vehicles.”

Anupma then brought up a recurring issue, saying, “There have been several complaints from residents about the behavior of some occupants in the servant quarters. How do you plan to address this?”

Dr. Dhiraj replied, “We have strict rules and regulations regarding this matter. If we receive complaints about the conduct of any occupant of the servant quarters, we ask them to vacate immediately. Additionally, our security agency conducts regular patrols in the servant quarters twice a day to ensure order.”

Anupma further asked, “Is it possible to relocate the servant quarters within the flats ?”

Dr. Dhiraj explained, “Unfortunately, we are bound by the approved built-up area of 2,270 square feet per flat, so no alterations can be made to accommodate servant quarters inside the flats. However, we are taking steps to improve the facilities and maintain discipline in the existing servant quarters.

Finally, Anupma asked, “What else are you planning to do to enhance the beauty of the complex?”

Dr. Dhiraj concluded, “We are committed to beautifying the premises with landscaping and additional greenery, we are already in talks with RWA regarding this.
