Navaratri was magnificent at Princeton with the involvement of 80 % of the residents !! We were immersed in the activities designed by Kamal Gulati and her crew members.
Everyday the celebration started at 4 pm and lasted till 8 pm. Images of all the Gods decorated on the dias was a pleasant sight for the whole lot of people seated on the ground in the middle and on the chairs at the periphery of the pandal.
It was not only Bhajans and songs that were shared but lots of anecdotes contributed by the captain, Mrs Gulati and her volunteers. It is remarkably organised for the 22nd year in a row with the untiring contribution of Kashika, Ruchika, Suman, Divya, Anjana, Kusum, Mona, Dimple, Rashmi, Alka, Sharda Ji and many more. It is necessary to mention here that Ashwini of 2 C made beautiful colourful cardboard lotus flowers which were hung all over from the ceiling of the pandal.
The efforts were fabulous and committed teamwork brought wonderful results. Numerous experiences, anecdotes and short stories about Goddess Sherawali were shared and 400 to 500 residents were wrapped up in the activities.
Dole Wala was arranged to pace up with the rhythm of the songs. Some songs were so impressive that some girls danced with the rhythm which was spectacular.
Women attired matching with the colour of the day and men seated outside facing the pandal tapping their feet to the rhythm of the bhajans was a stupendous sight to witness. Vanshika Singh staged a shiva Stuti near the dias and was appreciated by one and all.
The whole area outside the pandal was lit with colourful bulbs and it was nothing less than a grand exorbitant marriage celebration for 9 days.
Every day the Prasad was sponsored by someone or the other and on the final day a grand Bhandara was arranged by the Condominium, feeding 700 to 800 residents.
The condominium members and the President extended their services by working meticulously to grace the occasion. Thus the grand Navaratri was celebrated to the satisfaction of each and every one who participated.
