As soon as Ganesh Chaturthi comes, India slips into a pious state. After 10 days, the Pooja of Sri Ganesh, Shraddh, starts, and then the long-awaited Navratri Pooja starts. This year it started on 3rd October and ended on 12th October.
During these nine days, ladies become very energetic. In the morning, they are busy with Pooja, and in the evening time, from 4 to 6 pm, they attend kirtan, which takes place every day at different homes. It was so lovely to see all the beautiful ladies attired to the day’s colour, which was previously announced on WhatsApp. They offered their prayers to Maa Durga and sang sweet bhajans. After Pooja and Aarti Prasad were distributed to all.
Dadia night took place on 11th October at W1 Park to add flavour to Navratri celebrations. It started at 6 pm after kirtan. Ladies gathered in shining dresses and jewellery and danced until 10 pm. Besides ladies, some youngsters and kids also joined them. There was a big rush near food stalls, and residents enjoyed their favourite dishes. There were stalls of dresses, gift items and attractive imitation jewellery. The whole of Wellington was fully lit up from that day and may continue till the New Year 2025
