This is what Gurpreet Bindra, President VVWA has said: Tree Pruning: VVWA shall aggressively pursue the matter for clear and doable rules for the pruning of trees.
Encroachments: VVWA shall aggressively pursue the matter for removal of encroachments, in consultation with the High Court mandated committee. The President referred to the meeting with Dy. Commissioner. MCD, where a line of action was worked out.
Builders Code: VVWA is now in the process of initiating contact with the builders, holding discussions and bringing them on board. They would also pursue MCD to evolve a Builders Code, which would have legal sanction.
Street/Park Lights: Even though it was not mentioned, the President stressed that this was of utmost importance. He mentioned that during the recent meeting with the Dy. Commissioner, MCD, a line of action has been worked out. The results will be evident in the coming few months.
Water: The President stressed that VVWA was in constant touch with the officials, so that adequate water was available. The biggest problem was that, Vasant Vihar at the tail end of the supply line. VVWA would continue to strive to pursue permanent solutions.
Task Force: The President informed the members that a task force consisting of office bearers, block representatives and volunteers has been set up to address developmental issues. The first project to be taken up was to install speed breakers, along with associated signages. The results will be visible in the next few months.
