Fear Grips Many Parents
Fear has gripped many parents in the sector after two incidents of unprovoked attacks on minor children took place.
On the late evening of 29th August, two minor boys were returning from their karate class in A-block Park when suddenly a boy on a scooter came and started hitting the younger of the two boys. The attack was so sudden that the boy had no time to react while the other boy was shell-shocked. The boy on the scooter hit so hard that the young boy had swelling on his face and neck.
Residents of a nearby house, who saw the attack, rushed out and stopped this act of violence, after which the attacker left on his scooter. The helpful couple called up the parents of the two boys and this couple also showed the CCTV recording on their phone to the parents, of which they made a video. The B-block resident whose kid was hit circulated the video on some WhatsApp groups, asking for help in identifying the attacker. The next day the father went to Sector 26 Noida Police Chowki with two residents to register a case.
Accompanied by a policeman, they approached the RWCS to check all the CCTV cameras to figure out the entry and exit gates of the attacker. After it was figured that the attacker had left the sector from Gate 11, all CCTV footage of houses on that side was checked, and the boy was traced to Sector 20 Noida. The boy was apprehended in two days and brought to the police chowki, where he was positively identified as the attacker by the two boys (of B-Block and A-Block).
When Samvada spoke to the B-Block resident, he pointed out that the attacker was underage and was driving a vehicle without a helmet (which is an offence). He also pointed out that the young man had crossed the two boys but had done a U-turn to come and hit his son from behind. He also flaunted a belligerent attitude in the police chowki and had no remorse. The reason why he hit the boy also seems ludicrous. The young man said that he was returning home after dental treatment, and the two boys were walking on the road swinging their hands high. Water from the bottle of the young boy flew in the air and landed in the mouth of the scooty boy, which caused the latter immense pain. This caused him to get angry and hit the boy.
Since the attacker was a juvenile, he was let off with a warning. The aggrieved parents of the boy, who was hit, are talking about taking legal action.
This attack has left not only the two sets of parents wary of sending their sons alone on the road but has shocked many others in the sector. Scan to watch the video
