On Janmashtami, the Espacia Society Temple was bathed in the soft, silvery glow of the moon, transforming it into a realm of divine beauty. The air vibrated with anticipation as devotees and art enthusiasts gathered to witness a celebration of Lord Krishna’s birth.
The event began with a Puja, performed with utmost devotion and reverence. The priest’s chanting of mantras and the sweet fragrance of incense sticks set the tone for a spiritual and artistic journey.
In this atmosphere, the classical dance program unfolded, weaving a tapestry of divine rhythms. The evening commenced with a Ganpati Vandana, followed by an adorable group classical dance by little kids, their innocent faces aglow with devotion.
Trisha and Jyoti mesmerized the audience with a duet on a song, their harmonious moves blending in perfect unison. The kids then took to the stage, depicting Shri Krishna’s life events, their tiny hands and feet moving in graceful gestures.
The Vaishnavis – Swati, Pallavi, Preeti, Ritu and Shalini – followed with a dance on the song ‘Aayo Re Yashoda Ghar’, their synchronized steps and twirling ghagras creating a kaleidoscope of colours and joy.
Shardha’s performance on ‘Hey Krishna Govind Hare Murari’ was the pièce de résistance, transporting the audience to a realm of spiritual ecstasy. The evening also featured a Jhanki by kids, who dressed up as Radha and Krishna, their costumes and props recreating the divine couple’s celestial love story.
Their charm and joyous energy brought the mythological characters to life, leaving the audience enchanted.
As the clock struck 12, the temple erupted in celebration, marking Shri Krishna’s birth. Devotees gathered around the decorated cradle, where a serene idol of baby Krishna lay, surrounded by flowers and soft music.
The rituals for Sri Krishna’s birth were performed with fervour, immersing the audience in a deep sense of devotion and joy.
At the stroke of midnight, a cake, adorned with intricate designs and shimmering candles, was presented before the divine cradle. With hearts overflowing with love and devotion, devotees cut the cake, symbolizing the birth of the divine prince, Shri Krishna.
The assembly erupted in chants, hailing their beloved Lord’s arrival.
