A very impressive,artistic display of “Shri Krishan Lila “was organized by the Hindi Academy under the ministry of arts & culture, Delhi Govt., on the occasion of “Janmashtami” on August 26 at the beautiful air-conditioned auditorium of Arya Samaj, G K 1.
It was a two-hour long programme comprising of devotional bhajans & performance of several dance numbers by the artists from the Academy only.
The programme started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by dignitaries, a brief speech by the famous Padam Shri awardee Surendra Sharma, who is the vice chairperson of the Hindi academy. He narrated some facts & character of lord Krisna in his own impeccable style.
Saurabh Bhardwaj, honourable minister, Delhi Govt & our MLA, under whose guidance this programme was conducted & who perhaps had seen the beautiful, well-maintained huge auditorium in G K 1 for the first time, assured that more such cultural programmes shall be arranged for the benefit of G K constituency residents in future. In fact, he announced a “Kavi Sammelan” to be held on September 15 at the same place.
The auditorium having a capacity of around 450 people was full & in fact some people had to stand in the aisles.
The artists who performed the role of Radha & Krishna had a lot of admirers & at the end of the programme were mobbed by devotees, wishing to get photo sessions with them. Fruits as prasad were distributed to all at the end of the programme.
