Knock Knock! Who’s there?

Atithi devo bhava! The Indian trademark phrase to welcome the guests can turn dangerous at times with many strangers knocking our doors in DLF2.
Since many years, a lady visits across Phase 2 during festival time claiming to be a MCG road cleaning ‘jamadarni’ staffer who has a wedding of her daughter or grand-daughter and requesting donations house to house. If she has visited you before you may possibly recognise her.
A few days ago when she rang our bell, I recollected that I had seen her before and had heard that she goes all over the colony, I managed to click a picture and post it on the Councillor group and RWA group alerting others of her knock. The MCG team confirmed back that she was not part of any of their workers. Over the years many have fallen prey to her demands and given clothes and money to her.
Few residents have had men ringing their bell and asking “kya aapko ghar rent par dena hai”kya aapko ghar bechna hai ya collaboration karna hai. hum property dealer office se aaye hai” or “hum SHO team se hai aur survey kar rahe hai aapke ghar mein kitne CCTV camera lage hai aur kahan“.  Isn’t it strange to have random men asking about your house and its security equipment without providing any details of who they represent or without any IDs or authority letters.

Many would have even been visited by some blind boys asking for donations for andh-ashram or some sardarjis asking for sewa at West Delhi gurudwara. The gurudwara guys even asked to

When few of these cases were discussed on a group, many agreed that no gurudwara will send
I personally have called up QRT many times to tell them of the elm-seekers to be checked.
Residents need to be aware of such repetitive visitors and alert QRT immediately when they are at your doorstep or right after when they are still in the vicinity.

Is DLF Phase 2 area an easy target for fleecing money?

There is urgent need for some process to be established where the guards at the entry gates can identify such offenders and not let them enter.

As we understand there is a process for entry guards to check the IDs for raddi-walas or all trucks and lorries, probably a more rigorous check for all walkers also needs to be done.

We have been seeing the sole 2 boom barriers installed on BVM and over the last few years awaiting a fool-proof secure entry system to be activated in DLF Phase 2. The system, if soon implemented, promises for a check for everyone at the main gates. With cases of thefts increasing around us, all such visitors raise our concern higher on the security in our colony.  We urge the RWA Suraksha team to speed up the process of boom barriers installation and let us all have a sigh of relief from such incidents.

Restricted entry / boom barriers and better secularity are a desperate need of DLF 2. Hope all the projects see day of light soon

Again a security issue, which needs attention.
