This year a lot of DLF 2 residents promoted the ‘Go local’ campaign.
Children from the NGO- Niswarth Seva foundation hand painted around 500 diyas. These were sold at the RWA’s Diwali mela in community center. A lot of residents stepped up in support of the hardwork done by the children. Along with these clay diyas, cow dung cakes and diyas were also sold to quite a few residents.
It was a pleasure to see residents connecting with their traditional roots and buying the cow dung diyas to banish negativity from their homes. Quite a few generously supported the NGO by purchasing for more than the price quoted.
Where handpainted clay diyas helped promote local business Vipin Yadav also helped and encouraged residents to light up their homes with strings of lights that were Made in India.
We hope these little efforts by our residents have helped make it a HAPPY DIWALI for the local marketeers.
