On Monday, August 26, residents at AGV-1 celebrated Krishnashtami, also known as Gokulashtami, an annual Hindu festival that honors the birth of Lord Krishna.
The mandir committee organized a special celebration in the evening, which included devotees gathering early in the morning to seek blessings and worship Lord Krishna. The mandir was beautifully decorated, featuring Bal-Gopal seated inside a hula adorned with flowers and balloons, which was a major attraction for everyone, especially the children. The festivities also included children dressed as Bal-Gopal, a Krishna-themed cultural event, and Bhajan-Kirtan performances that entertained the residents, particularly the elderly. At midnight, the Janmashtami puja commenced, with a large number of devotees, especially those who had fasted all day, in attendance. The celebration concluded with the distribution of Prasad. Overall, the day was filled with honor, joy, and the hope for blessings and strength to overcome societal evils.
