Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the residents of Regency Park 2. The entire campus was decorated in tricolors. The main lawn was beautifully decorated with flowers. Arrangements for the function were made in the main lawn. A large number of residents turned up for the event.
The morning started with a fabulous display of march-past by a contingent of security guards smartly dressed in ceremonial attire. The flag hoisting was done and the tricolor was unfurled by the President and General Secretary of the RWA. Everyone present stood up to pay their respects and sang the national anthem.
Children presented an enjoyable program that included singing patriotic songs, reciting poems, and also dancing to patriotic Songs. Some little ones also came forward although hesitating to just speak a couple of lines. The residents gave a large round of applause to all the children and encouraged their efforts.
A beautiful presentation was made by the girls of Sarvam Foundation, an NGO run by Hemangi Bhatnagar. This NGO offers an after-school program focusing on developing skills and developing well-being both physical and mental among underprivileged girls. The girls presented a beautiful dance as well as a piece on rhythmic Yoga. All these young girls were so fit and flexible and the residents were left in awe at their finesse.
The program was wrapped up with a sumptuous brunch for all the attendees. A beautiful sunny morning well-spent.
