Residents hold Mata ki chowki

After 2 years Navratri celebrations in Anand Niketan were held with a lot of devotion and happiness. The pandermic over the last few years had seen to it that a lot of celebrations and festivities had to be put on hold. The colony had seen a lot of difficulties over the last few years. Now that the pandemic is ebbing, people are finally venturing to get back to the pre-covid days.
The Dussehra celebrations of Anand Niketan are very well known. However this year the requisite permissions from the authorities was sought but got denied. As a result the finale to the Navratri was somewhat missing but all the nine days of navratri were celebrated with a lot of devotion by all the residents of Anand Niketan.
The first Navratri was held at Kalpana Poplis residence C62. People turned up in large numbers and the ladies of the colony sang bhajans and Mata ki bhetein with full fervor. The second chowki was held at Madhu Bassi’s place which again saw maximum turnout. Meenakshi Chanda held the third Mata ki chowki while the 4th was at the D111 and the fifth was at Ms Kanak’s place. Both the times the devotion was palpable. Ms Sangeeta,C95 held the 6th chowki while Ms Jyoti, E14 held the 7th Navratri chowki.
All the days residents made it a point to sing Mata ki bhetein and leave only after taking the Prasad. The joy and the fervor of celebrating Navratri physically after 2 years was something to be seen to be believed.
