AIKGA Monthly Meet At SDA RWA Office

On a fresh July afternoon marked by the monsoon rains, the members of the Aikga community gathered at the SDA RWA Office for their much-anticipated monthly meeting. The convenors, Rachna Tiwary and Rekha Malhotra, had strategically planned the session with a focus on plant propagation, a critical activity best undertaken during the rainy season. The choice of the topic was apt, considering the advantages the season offers for propagating various plant species.

The highlight of the meeting was undoubtedly the presence of Mahesh Mishraji, an illustrious teacher and renowned expert in organic gardening. Despite having relocated to Jaipur, Mishraji continues to graciously make time for sharing his profound knowledge with the gardening aficionados of Aikga. His dedication to nurturing the community’s passion for gardening is truly commendable.

As punctuality is a cornerstone of any fruitful session, Mishraji arrived right on time, setting a fine example for the enthusiastic members who followed suit. The convenors, Rachna and Rekha, welcomed him warmly, signifying the beginning of an intellectually enriching morning.

Mishraji took center stage, ready to delve into the intricacies of plant propagation. His expertise shone through every aspect of the session. He began by explaining the fundamental methods of propagation, which included cutting, layering, and division by roots, tubers, and rhizomes. His explanations were detailed yet comprehensible, ensuring that each attendee, irrespective of their gardening experience, could grasp the concepts with ease.

To provide practical understanding, Mishraji demonstrated cutting and layering using a Bougainvillea plant. His hands-on approach mesmerized the attendees, as they watched him skillfully maneuver the plant, showcasing various propagation techniques. He also shared numerous hacks, particularly crucial for plant care during the rains, which are often challenging times for both plants and gardeners.

The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as the members engaged actively, eagerly absorbing the wealth of information Mishraji shared. They bombarded him with questions, each seeking to resolve their unique gardening queries. Mishraji, with his vast reservoir of knowledge, addressed each one patiently, leaving no query unanswered.

The educational session concluded with a vibrant discussion among the members, reflecting on the newly acquired knowledge and planning their upcoming propagation projects. The conversation, however, was not the only highlight of the day. The convenors had arranged for a delectable spread of samosas and dhoklas, which were a delightful treat for the attendees. The social mingling over snacks added a warm, communal touch to the event, reinforcing the camaraderie within the group.

Before parting ways, the customary group picture was taken, capturing the essence of the session and the collective enthusiasm of the community. The smiles and the sense of accomplishment evident on the members’ faces spoke volumes about the success of the meeting.

In conclusion, the Aikga Monthly Meeting in July was not just an event but a milestone in the journey of local gardening enthusiasts towards greater knowledge and community bonding. Thanks to the diligence of the convenors and the indomitable spirit of Mahesh Mishraji, the session left everyone inspired and better equipped to propagate their beloved plants.
