In a commendable display of environmental stewardship and community spirit, Peeyush Srivastava, a resident of Shubhkamna Apartment in Sector 50, Noida, initiated an inspiring mission to plant 101 trees in his neighbourhood. This initiative, aptly named “Mission 101,” has not only enhanced the green cover of the area but also united the residents in a common cause.
Peeyush’s call to action resonated deeply within the community, galvanizing more than 60 residents to join forces in this noble endeavour. Their collective efforts culminated in the successful planting of 101 native trees on 07 July— marking a significant step towards environmental sustainability.
Trees such as Chamrod, Amaltas, Dhak, Doodhi, Harsinghar, Peeli, Jumkitni and Babool; climbers such as Chatavari, Maerua, Pelvan; andshrubs such as Aswagandha, Chitrak, Adusa, Goya, Gangeeti were planted. All the plants are native to Delhi NCR and will help in creating a robust ecosystem. One of the most heart-warming aspects of Mission 101 was the enthusiastic participation of children.
Additionally, special recognition in this campaign is for Dipti Gupta Mohanty (resident ofPalm Grove), whose extraordinary efforts played a crucial role in the mission’s success. Her unwavering dedication and hard work were instrumental in organizing the event and ensuring that everything ran smoothly. Dipti’s commitment to the cause exemplifies the kind of leadership and community spirit that can drive meaningful change.
“The newly planted trees will provide a multitude of benefits to the local environment. They will improve air quality, enhance biodiversity, and offer shade and beauty to the area. Moreover, these trees will stand as a living legacy of the collective effort and determination of the community to safeguard their environment for future generations.
“As the trees take root and grow, they will serve as a constant reminder of what can be accomplished when people come together with a common purpose. Mission 101 has shown that grassroots initiatives can have a profound and lasting impact.
“In recognition of this outstanding achievement, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the members of Mission 101. Your dedication and hard work have not only beautified Sector 50 but have also contributed to a healthier and more sustainable environment.
