Many of the residents, recently, may think that either Sir Henry Barton the then mayor of London ever lived or visited here and ordered to put streetlights in the sector or the idea of Benjamin Franklin of United States now being considered for putting streetlights in our Sector-50. Anyway, the reason may not be so. But if all goes well, our sector will go JUGMUG by the coming Independence Day, 15 August.
Noida Authority, to make Noida a beautiful place, has approved installation of streetlights in our sector and the work is already in progress. It may be eyesore for many residents these days to see the roadside dug up and tiles removed to install light pole and put underground cables to illuminate all major roads/street very soon. The work is going on war footing to complete the task in time.
Approximately 400 light poles are proposed to be installed in the entire Sector-50. The design of lights pole is Roman Style Heritage having bunch of LED inside, and a big glass cover to protect it from flying insects and rain water. The lamp is installed on the low height crinkle black colour pole of approximately twelve feet to give maximum illumination on the road without any obstruction from branches of trees. The frequent trimming of tree, which is done now, will not be required to be done in the case of these newly installed poles to have clear streetlight falling on the road.
Once completed all the tiles will be re-fixed at the same place to restore the clean look. The entire work is being done under the supervision of engineers from Noida Authority. The workforce engaged by the contractor is expected to do the work with utmost care and not to hinder the parking of vehicles and entry to the houses.
RWA must ensure checking the quality and proper finishing of the work, simultaneously. Let there be light at the end of this fortnight!
