In the heart of our bustling colony, where schools, hospitals and a flourishing market have created a cacophony, a new hope has emerged. The constant noise and chaos have overshadowed the beauty of our surroundings; but amidst this turmoil, a beacon of hope shines – the Vriksh Ayurveda initiative.
The Art of Living, along with the Sri Sri Institute of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Trust (SSIAST) and Noida Authority, proudly launched the Sri Aranyam Project on 28 July in Sector-50. Transforming urban areas into lush, biodiverse sanctuaries through the ancient wisdom of Vrikshaayurveda. In the first phase plans are to plant over 5000 trees, with a goal to nurture 10000 plants over the next three years and beyond. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the community and environmentalists. The guests included Dr. Mahesh Sharma (Noida MP), Mahesh Gupta (Founder chairman an organization) and RK Tyagi (Trustee for The Art of Living). RWA presidents, FORNWA and NOFAA representatives that showcased strong community involvement and leadership support.
Noida Authority has generously allocated a piece of land to the Art of Living foundation, presenting us with a unique opportunity. The whole project will be maintained by the foundation for 3 years! As dedicated volunteers, we are working tirelessly to raise funds and plant trees, aiming to restore balance and tranquility through this initiative. And what a better time to start in this rainy season!
With each tree we plant, we make a promise to heal the earth for future generations. Me, a resident of Sector-50, is involved with all my heart. Imagine a colony where the air is fresher, the environment healthier, and the simple joys of nature are abundant. Picture the shade providing a cool respite from the blazing sun, and the air filled with birdsong and the flutter of wings. This is the vision of Vriksh Ayurveda. Together, as volunteers, we rise with soil-stained hands and hopeful hearts. This initiative is not just a project but a heartfelt plea to every member of our community. I urge everyone to join us in planting trees with love and care. Every contribution, whether big or small, makes a difference.
This is a call to action to transform our sector, tree by tree, into a green sanctuary. By increasing green cover and promoting biodiversity, we aim to create a self-sustaining ecosystem that supports various forms of life. Trees, as nature’s air purifiers, will help combat pollution, providing much-needed respite from the increasing levels of air pollution.
