In initiative was taken up by the G Block Secretary, Mohin Bangia, to meet the GMDA CEO regarding the upcoming liquor vend near Kushboo Chowk. The open drinking will result in littering and unsanitary conditions in the area, which would be detrimental to the community.
The following people met the GMDA CEO:
Mohin Bangia, Secretary, GSOCA
Jai Shanker represented Silver Oaks.
Preety Sharma, GSOCA
Rahul Chandola, president, HBRC
There will be further meetings with other concerned agencies to ensure that the liquor vent doesn’t come up at the proposed site.
The location of the proposed liquor shop is adjacent to the residential area of DLF Phase 1 and also in close proximity to the forest area, which has been developed by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and civil society organizations to build a green city.
The RWA members said that there are over 5,000 families residing in DLF Phase 1, and there is also a group housing society and another residential area directly opposite the proposed site. The presence of a wine shop will lead to disorderly behaviour, and this will cause inconvenience for the residents.
With a liquor shop opening up in every nook and corner, it is very important for the authorities to keep a check regarding schools, residential areas, temples, green belts, etc. in the nearby radius.
