Keeping in mind the increase in incidents of vehicle thefts and security concerns of residents of Anand Niketan, Shanti Niketan and West End, Delhi Police has closed all the entrances of these colonies except for Baba Balak Nath Marg from RTR.
From 12 in the night till 5 am in the morning they have been barricading the entire road/s
( 1) From RTR near to West End gate no 1 leading to Mount Carmel, AN Club etc, (2) Baba Balak Nath Marg near E 1 and the Taxi Stand leading towards the crossing near A1 and
(3) Road leading to Nanak Pura Post Office from the crossing near A1.
Anyone coming into Anand Niketan will have to enter from RTR side to Baba Balak Nath Marg.
Further, Delhi Police is patrolling Benito Juarez Marg during this time through their personnel on two bikes. In addition, they have deputed one personnel on bike for patrolling the inside of the Colonies.
Recently around 3:30 a.m, three boys brazenly stole a Fortuner parked within a specially reinforced grill on the pavement outside House no. 2/17, Shanti Niketan. (Opposite Moti Bagh Market) despite the presence of a personal guard. The thieves managed to open the car swiftly and while dismantling the grill, threatened to shoot the guard if he moved from his place. The guard stood transfixed and watched helplessly as the criminals fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.
We were able to provide crucial CCTV Footage to the police. Based on this footage, the authorities have traced the thieves’ escape route via Baba Balak Nath and Benito Juarez Marg.
