The Defence Colony (WA) Club and The Gracious Living Foundation will host the Silver Jubilee Commemoration of Kargil Vijay Divas at 11 am on Saturday, 3 Aug 2024 at the Club premises. Sub-Maj & Hony Capt Yogendra Singh Yadav, PVC will be the Chief Guest and Speaker. On 8 Jul 1999, despite being shot 15 times, (then) Grenadier Yadav led the assault to capture the crucial 16,700 feet high Tiger Hill, a pivotal moment in the conflict. For his major role in recapturing Tiger Hill, bravery, extraordinary courage and resilience in the face of adversity, Grenadier Yadav, at 19 years, was the youngest recipient to be awarded the Param Vir Chakra, the highest military honour of Republic of India.
