The streets of many Sectors in Noida are plagued by a persistent problem – garbage. Piles of trash line the roads, and the stench of rotting waste fills the air. The residents of Sector 36 are also at their wit’s end, frustrated by the erratic garbage collection service that seems to prioritize everything else over their needs. The story begins with the sweepers, who instead of disposing of the trash properly, dump it in the open park in D Block. The disabled sweeper, who is often seen emptying his hand cart, shrugs off objections, fearless in the face of neglect. His colleague, a lady who spends more time on her phone than sweeping, joins the chorus of indifference. As the garbage piles up, the residents’ patience wears thin. They plead with the authorities to designate a proper dumping ground, but their cries fall on deaf ears. The abandoned plot, A41, has become a dumping site, with no signs of periodic cleaning. The residents are trapped in a never-ending cycle of filth and neglect. The garbage collection vans, when they do arrive, are often late or don’t show up at all. The drivers’ excuses range from sickness to van breakdowns, but the result is the same – uncollected garbage that attracts pests and spreads disease. The residents’ efforts to segregate waste are rendered futile as the collection staff mixes everything together, defeating the purpose of recycling. The Noida Authority, responsible for overseeing public services, seems more focused on PR stunts than addressing the real issues. The residents’ complaints on WhatsApp groups and help lines go unanswered, leaving them feeling helpless and ignored. The situation is dire, with garbage collection becoming a luxury rather than a basic service. The residents of Sector 36 deserve better. They deserve a clean and hygienic environment, where waste management is a priority, not an afterthought. It’s time for the authorities to take responsibility and restore order to this neglected neighborhood. The story of Sector 36’s garbage woes must come to an end, and a new chapter of cleanliness and accountability must begin.
