Nirjala Ekadashi was observed on June 26, 2024 and it holds special significance in Hindu tradition. Unlike other Ekadashis, it requires strict fasting without water, symbolizing deep devotion to Lord Vishnu. Devotees believe this rigorous fasting purifies the soul, grants forgiveness, and fulfills desires. Many also engage in charitable acts and donate food and other essentials to the needy, emphasizing the values of compassion and service. The legend of Bhima from the Mahabharata underscores its spiritual potency, inspiring millions to observe with prayer, meditation, and charity. The residents of Apex Athena came together and mutually contributed to arrange the distribution of chilled water and sharbat to the needy or passers-by on that hot summer afternoon. The Mandir Committee of the society took an active lead in arranging and organizing the entire event successfully. The act of service on the boiling hot June afternoon transcended religious boundaries, emphasizing discipline, self-control, and spiritual growth. As the residents prepared for the sacred day, it reaffirmed the values of inner purity and devotion.
