Growing up nowadays is really tough. Today’s children and teens are increasingly overwhelmed by their busy schedules. It is hard to catch a break between school activities, social media engagements, numerous extracurricular activities, and family commitments.
Many kids struggle with anxiety and sleep deprivation, staying up late to finish assignments or worrying if they’re doing enough.
Schoolwork and other stuff take up most of the children’s time and energy. They are pressured to do well in school and get into good colleges. They take extra classes and study a lot, even though it can be tough on them.
Even things the kids enjoy, like sports or hobbies, add to their busy schedules with practices and competitions.
Technology is a big part of the children’s lives too. It is great for many things but can also make them feel stressed and overwhelmed. Social media is so important to them that it is hard to find time to hang out with friends when they are so busy.
These kids have everything in ‘abundance’ – stationery, clothes, toys and gadgets—and their families usually have enough money to give them what they want. It is different from when their parents/ grandparents were growing up.
Back then, there weren’t as many choices as now; people did not have the internet/ social media. They spent more time with family & friends and talked about their feelings instead of just ‘liking’ things online.
It had its own challenges, but life was simpler.
We hope all the children out there find happiness in what they do. Sometimes just doing your best is good enough. So, lots of love and good luck to them!
