RWA Sector 92 Collaborates with an NGO to Celebrate World Environment Day through Seedball Making Event

On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Residential Welfare Association (RWA) of Sector92 took a proactive step towards environmental stewardship by organizing a seedball making event in collaboration with the Messenger of Nature Club, a prominent NGO dedicated to environmental conservation. Held on 05 June, this event aimed to instill a sense of environmental responsibility among the community members, particularly the younger generation, while fostering a deep connection with nature.

The ethos of ‘Back to Nature’ resonated throughout the event, symbolizing a return to our roots and a reconnection with the natural world. Recognizing the pivotal role of children as the seeds of our future, the event emphasized their importance in shaping a sustainable and green planet. It underscored the need to provide them with a solid foundation rooted in environmental values, ensuring they become custodians of our planet’s well-being.

The event commenced with the spirited participation of young children, who eagerly gathered at the Central Park as early as 6 am, displaying remarkable enthusiasm even on a vacation day. Engaging in the process of seedball making, the children immersed themselves in the activity with boundless energy and joy. Their laughter-filled interactions and swift actions filled the atmosphere with a sense of purpose and camaraderie.

Seedballs, comprising a mixture of soil, water and coco peat encapsulating a variety of fruit, vegetable and flower seeds, were meticulously crafted by the young participants. As crates brimmed with these eco-friendly creations, it became evident that the event was not merely about making seedballs but sowing the seeds of environmental consciousness and action within the community.

Encouraged by the RWA, residents embraced the idea of planting fruit and flower trees in the neighbourhood, thereby demonstrating their collective commitment to enhancing the green cover of their surroundings.

In addition to seedball making, children were invited to unleash their creativity by submitting paintings or crafts depicting Mother Nature. The diverse array of artworks showcased their imaginative interpretations and served as a source of inspiration for all present. To acknowledge their efforts, young participants were rewarded with colour kits and stationery.

The event concluded on a joyous note, with participants indulging in refreshing lassi and delectable chocolates, symbolizing a celebration of unity and shared purpose. As applause reverberated through the park, it served as a testament to the collective efforts of the community in nurturing a greener, more sustainable future.
