Navratri Celebration by Celebration Group of Volunteer Mothers

In the heart of Defence Colony, a divine celebration unfolded on 12th April as children and dedicated volunteer mothers joined hands to commemorate the auspicious occasion of Navratri.

With an array of traditional activities and cultural festivities, the event was a vibrant tapestry of shared joy and togetherness. The festivities commenced with a captivating storytelling session where the tales of Goddess Durga were narrated with fervor, igniting the imagination of the young ones and fostering a deeper appreciation for the spiritual significance of Navratri.

Amidst laughter and excitement, Navratri bingo added an element of thrill to the gathering, as children eagerly marked off numbers while learning about the various aspects of the festival. Garland making with flowers followed suit, as tiny hands meticulously crafted colorful garlands, symbolizing devotion and unity. Navratri treasure hunt, saw participants dig the sand tub to unearth hidden ornaments of Goddess Durga. embodying the spirit of perseverance and teamwork.

The joyous echoes of bhajans, cymbals and Durga Arti filled the air, resonating with the collective devotion of the community.

No festival is complete without the taste of divine blessings, and Navratri offered the perfect opportunity to indulge in the offering of prasad, sweet delicacies that symbolize divine grace and abundance. As the aroma of homemade prasad by volunteer moms wafted through the air, hearts were filled with gratitude and contentment. As the workshop drew to a close, the exchange of return gifts brought smiles to every face, serving as tokens of appreciation and affection shared among the battalion of kids. Each gift carried the essence of the festivities, serving as a cherished reminder of the bonds forged during this joyous occasion.

In the embrace of community spirit and cultural heritage, the Navratri celebration brought together almost 80 colony children and volunteer mothers in a tapestry of tradition and togetherness. It was a testament to the power of unity and shared joy, fostering memories that would be cherished for years to come.

Heartfelt gratitude to Mr Samir Kapoor for offering his residence for our first ever Navratra workshop. We will continue to bond children and families alike in this beautiful colony through strings of beautiful and joyous celebrations.
