Looking at the deteriorating condition of the Central Park some residents got together and decided to take upon themselves to upgrade the park.
A plan was made that required 6 lakhs in funds. Without waiting for funds from the society or the RWA they started the development work with their own funds. Lo behold the Society also agreed to pitch in.
What’s the plan: Fixing of about 30 metres of damaged walking path; Fixing the Badminton court and laying a new one with lights to allow people to play till late at night; Construct a Skating rink for the children who as of now don’t have a place to learn or skate; Fix the play park by adding games and level the ground; Install benches around these areas; Convert the elevated pedestal that has become a pigeon feeding area into a yoga space and a green area.
This is a great initiative and the fact that residents are themselves participating in redoing it will ensure that it is fully utilised and maintained properly even in the future.
