A concerned GK2 resident
Last week, around 6 pm, I spotted a few Rajasthani women and children at the stretch from Safal store to Garg store area in M block GK2. They were pestering people to give them money or buy them stuff from the shops. After speaking with a few friends, I learnt that they had been around for some time now and had become a nuisance.
We already have a number of urchins begging in the market. Increasing numbers isn’t good news at all. This can be quite risky for the customers who come there in large numbers in the evenings to purchase their groceries. Wallets, mobile phones and even purchased items could easily be flicked while people are trying to avoid their irritating behaviour. For all we know, one of them could be trying to distract us while the other members of their gang pickpockets.
The surprising thing is that all this is happening right under the nose of Delhi Police that supposedly has a full-service booth right there. Sanjay Rana, General Secretary Gk2RWA has shared the concern with the Additional SHO CR park police station and we are hopeful some strict action would be taken towards the residents’ security.
