AGM:- For the last many years, S Block welfare Society has been holding its AGM & elections ,strictly as per the rules of the Society as mandated in its rules & regulations or loosely described as its constitution.
As per rules AGM should be held within 30 days of the financial year closure and elections should also be held before 30th April. Tenure of the elected MC, which has eight posts is of two years.
Last elections were held in 2022. This year the AGM was held on Sun, 14 April.
Prior to the AGM, notice & agenda, Minutes of the last AGM, duly audited account statements along with annual report were circulated to all the members.
S Block AGM is a big affair with elaborate arrangements including lunch for members and spouses. It is a lively affair with exchange of ideas. Lately a lot of bonhomie can be seen during the AGM. At one time, AGM used to be a stormy affair. Things have changed for the better, over the years.
This year again, AGM started on time as the quorum was complete at 10 am.
76 members attended. All the eight resolutions were adopted unanimously with a voice vote. The annual Member ship was increased after two years from Rs. Five thousand per year to Rs. Six thousand per year.
Arvind Aggarwal (S 34) was elected as the RO for conducting the elections.
Around 150 members & spouses enjoyed the elaborate lunch topped with “Gulab Jamuns” & “Kulfi”.
Elections:- The RO Arvind Aggarwal, a CA and an old resident of S Block, issued the election notification on 15 April, fixing the dates for submission of nomination forms, withdrawal dates etc. Voting date was fixed for 28 April.
However, only eight members filled the forms till the due date. Scrutiny was done on 17 April. All papers were found in order and accordingly result was declared on 18 April, informing that all the eight seats were filled up without any contest.
The new Managing Committee of SBWS is as follows: 1. President- Sanjiv Gupta; 2. Sr.V.P. – Yashwant Pal; 3.V.P.- Ms. Sunita goel; 4. Secretary- M.K.Gupta; 5. Treasurer- P.K.Gupta; 6. Jt. Secy.- Ramesh Uppal; 7. Jt. Secy.- Rahul Bansal; 8. Jt. Secy.- Ms. Yashaswini Sharma
After the declaration of results, the team visited the “shiv mandir” to pay obeisance to deities and take Ashirwad from our Pandit Ji. The term of the new M.C will be from 2024 to 2026.
