Enthusiasm in Sector-92 to Cast Vote and Elect Their Own Candidate

The General Election for the 18th Lok Sabha is being held throughout the country. The elections were held in Noida in the second phase, on 25 April. On that day, early morning, Sector 92 was unusually bustling with activities. Residents were getting ready to celebrate the festival of the election, being part of the electoral process, by casting their vote.

The enthusiasm to become a contributor to the election process and electing their candidate was visibly seen in the sector. The RWA Sector-92 organized a shuttle service for the senior-citizen residents and ladies of the sector. They were picked up from home, on call, and together they went – with the joy of this day clearing seen in their gait – to cast their vote.

The residents called each other to enquire the time they would go out together for voting. The polling in booth for the voters of our sector was in Sector-82. The arrangements here were well organized, neat and the polling staff was friendly. The stalls of the various parties, set up at a distance from the polling station, were helping the residents with their voting slips. Overall it was a stress-free experience of casting vote.

The current trend of selfie point was not missed out here, the first to be seen in a general election. Voters took selfies at the polling booths and enjoyed sharing their images on social media groups.

The first-time voters had their own experiences and queries: Why voting would make a difference if they voted / who was the right one / and many more. All questions were being answered meticulously and patiently by the parents who coaxed them to exercise their franchise. It’s the youth that has to understand and lead the country in future, so it’s very important for them to be a part of the electoral system.

The elections are the most important part in any democracy they are the backbone of the governing system and we need to make it stronger by always remaining an integral part of the process.
