Elections in the Holiday Club
The elections in Holiday Club this time was a short notice affair as the AGM meeting couldn’t go smoothly & a lot of ruckus happened on that day. Majorly two teams were formed. One under Colonel V K Kapoor, the other under Shailender Chandok as president. A lot of on-line what’s app canvassing happened. Pamphlets distribution (Which is considered as a sheer wastage of paper these days) was adopted as a way of canvassing besides personal phone calls to vote & support the candidate.
On the polling day i.e 21 April, the family members and supporters of the contestants gathered at the site of polling booth.The polling went peacefully, under the expert, experienced electoral officers Col. Iqbal Inder Singh, Avinash Aggarwal, and advocate Arjun Sawhney, who had a tough job from 9 am to 8 pm. The results were declared by 6.30 in the evening.
Candidates from both the groups have won the elections. This time a mixed team had emerged. However, a good opposition is the call of the day. Secretary Gaurav has been able to retain his seat, due to his dedicated services to the club along with his young team. We hope that the good work continues. We congratulate the winning candidates & wish they work united with all the harmony to take the club further to great heights.
