The first Durga Puja was celebrated by the residents of AGV-1 with great enthusiasm. It’s a period of five days Puja and was a challenging task for the organizers. However, all the residents provided great support to ensure successful celebration of Durga Puja. Puja was commenced at the club house and the pandal was beautifully decorated on this occasion. The beautiful decoration was done by the initiative of the members with their creative skills and efforts and was appreciated by all. The idols of ‘ Maa Durga, Ganesha, Kartik, Lakshmi and Saraswati were kept inside the pandal. From to October 1 to 5, it was a big celebration at the society. Moreover neighbouring societies also joined in this festival. Puja and Arti were performed throughout the day and large number of devotees assembled for seeking the divine blessings of’Maa Durga’ .
Bhog -Prasad was served in large scale also.
Cultural program was another interesting part of the Durga Puja and which was organised at the amphitheatre premise for three days in the evening from 7 p.m to 10 p.m . The program included songs and dance performance by children as well as by other artists both in-house and from outside.
Different cultural events like, drawing competition, classical dance and drama and group song were the part of the program and residents gathered at the amphitheatre to enjoy it. After the event prizes were distributed among the children for their great performance. It was a mesmerizing celebration at AGV-1. On the day of ‘Shasti’ Maa Durga and her children were given warm welcome at the Puja venue and then they were placed in the mandap.
Finally on the day of ‘Dussehra’ ladies worshipped ‘Maa Durga ‘ and participated i “Sindur Khela”. Infront of idols a large group dance also performed which created a joyful ambience for all. Then Maa Durga, departed with her children immersion of idols was performed in nearby identified location. On the auspicious day of Dussehra, residents bid adieu to Maa Durga with heavy heart with an earnest request to come back again next year.
