As in the past, cultural committee ladies of SBWS in association with MC Members, held the first Fun meet of the current year for the senior citizens of the block on Mon, 8 April in the Newly airconditioned office of SBWS, in the park.
The meeting was meant to provide some fun moments to the senior citizens to cheer them up from the daily routine.
The fun meet started with the rendering of some lovely songs by the ever-cheerful Yashawini Sharma, who also conducts Yoga classes in S Block & is also the Jt. Secy of SBWS.
A quiz show followed, which was conducted by the President, MK Gupta.
Ten questions were asked, mainly centered around S block, some medical terms, films & some abbreviations. Few samples;
1.GK1 was carved out of which village, when did DLF started selling plots & at what rate? (Answer: Yaqutpur, 1956-57, Rs 16 per sq yard)
2.Oldest living resident of S Block? ( Answer: Mr Garg, 101 years old, S 452)
3.Who were the four leading actors in the 1958 released film “Chalti Ka Naam Gadi” & which were the actresses in a “Muzra” dance in the film? (Three Ganguly brothers & Madhu Bala. Helen & Cuckoo)
4. What is the full form of MICR & IFSC in relation to cheques?
(Answer: MICR- Magnetic Ink Character recognition – IFSC- Indian Financial System Code)
Attractive Parker Gel pens were given as prizes to the winners.
This round was followed by Antakshini, which was liked by all & full participation was there.
Brunch, consisting of Samosas, Dhokla, chips, Jalebi, “Chach” & tea was served.
All present, praised the SBWS team for this great initiative. We hope to organize many more such meets in future.
