The Imperial Court Nari Shakti was unleashed on Saturday, 16 March, by our ladies – an epitome of commitment, initiative &purpose. The Swagat Terraces grandeur, like never before, wore the ‘Husband’s Night’ festivities in an evening suffused with hospitality – an event dedicated to honouring the remarkable men in the ladies’ lives.
8 PM was different that evening! Welcomed by the gracefully attired ladies, the gala eve kicked off with an array of fun-filled games by the better halves, designed not only to entertain but also to foster a teamwork spirit among the bitter halves.
The air was abuzz with excitement, as couples navigated through a challenging & well – designed Q&A, answered by a sandal/ shoe show, all in joy to create memories. As laughter echoed through the terrace, hubbies were treated to an assortment of sumptuous snacks, a testament to the ladies’ thoughtfulness.
The merriment was palpable, with gaming activities reflecting the love theme. The chivalry test in DIY putting an impromptu five teams of gentlemen into an innovative relay race – of tying the tie knot, making a paper boat, separating pulses and readying the miscued buttons on the shirt – an event that displayed the clumsiness in simple household chores.
A game that not only served as a platform for celebration but also as a reminder of the ladies’ dexterity in doing the myriad of tasks with ease.
Another nostalgic highlight was On The Spot questions to the gentlemen that gave them an opportunity to relive their yesterdays by displaying their skills in proposing & showcasing their past skills down the lovers’ lanes – describe your first impressions Jab u Met, describe your wife in three golden words… Et all!
Then was the Two to Tango on the dance floor which was thoroughly oversubscribed. The excitement touched the crescendo when the corners were announced for selection of dancing couples to continue slogging on the floor.
This saw the yellow and blue corners with a Vaastu problem but the couples who were eliminated tiptoed to the grooving music – a true indicator of the entertainment galore. The collective camaraderie exhibited the strength found in the better – bitter wife – hubby partnership bond and took the mutual admiration notches high.
The icing was the lavish dinner, a culinary voyage that delighted the senses. The flow of snacks was well matched by the lavish dinner spread so meticulously presented, encapsulating diversity in flavours.
A word on the address by the Ladies’ Club President. Mrs Jyotsna Jaswal expressed her gratitude to the husbands for their companionship. She underscored the essence of the event – to celebrate the men who play pivotal roles in their lives, highlighting the importance of acknowledging these bonds.
A thought crosses my mind as I reminisce the eve. How many times do we convey our appreciation for the value-adds the ladies continue to bring in our lives? Could we do a Wives’ Nite to do the magic they did?
Something to act upon in 2024!
As the night drew to a close, the air was ripe with a sense of fulfilment. We, the Gentlemen, extend our thanks to all the ladies who participated in making Husband’s Night a resounding success and look forward to fostering more such bonhomie moments in the future.
