On 23 March, RWA Sector-92 organised the ‘Holi Milan’ event to celebrate the spirit of Holi, an opportunity for residents to meet each other and enjoy the evening with good mood and food and loads of laughter with a dash of colour.
The lawns of Community Centre were decorated with rangoli, to let the festive auspicious spirit out and create an ambiance of celebrations. The colours of red, blue, green, yellow, pink and purple created vibrancy on the path that led to the grass area. The grass had floral rangoli made using marigolds, chrysanthemum, roses and cut leaves. The fairy lights on bushes and trees added to the decor with beautiful enhancements.
The event was conducted by Ranjan Kumar, General Secretary RWA Sector 92, with full fun and setting up the Holi mood. Everyone enjoyed his jokes and took part in the light-hearted moments.
The festival relevance, putting an end to hard feelings that might have cropped up during the past year and burying them for good, has become so true in today’s fast moving era. Everyone was welcomed with a tikka. Residents applied colour on each other with friendly hug and good wishes.
Festivals are the time when everyone wants to be in the company of people close to their hearts; we tend to enjoy and celebrate more with rightly tuned people.
The DJ did justice to the event by playing Holi songs, and soon the floor was filled with enthusiastic ladies who had come best dressed and to have an evening of dancing music and masti.
Good food plays a major role in the celebration and proves to be a mood lifter for many. The amazing buffet of delectable dishes left the residents yearning for more. The array of dishes was relished with fondness by all; young and old could not help scrunching in the delicious gujiya, kachori aloo, matar kulcha. The savoury were gulped down with the wholesome thandai, which is a must have on the occasion of Holi.
On the open stage the residents shared their thoughts and talent. A flute performance by President RWA 92, Dr. Muktesh Chandar, left the audience mesmerised. The old melodious songs sung by DP Singh made the residents nostalgic taking them to the classic era.
The event came to its conclusion with full music and dance. Everyone went home with lasting memories and looking forward to next event celebrating togetherness.
