Guruji is regarded as an incarnation of Lord Shiva by his followers.
Born as Nirmal Singhji Maharaj on 7 July 1952 in Punjab’s Dugri village, Guruji is the ‘Divine Light’ that came on earth to bless and enlighten humanity, through his Satsang.
For devotees of Lord Shiva, Mahashivratri holds immense significance. This Hindu festival celebrates the divine union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Mahashivratri is believed to be a time when the spiritual energy of Lord Shiva is heightened and performing any type of spiritual activity such as meditation and chanting of mantras, recitation of holy scriptures or hymns, provides spiritual upliftment.
The devoted followers of Guruji came together this Mahashivratri to celebrate the oneness of being together through the melodious harmony of his Satsang. It’s his willingness, which brings together the devotees and helps them seamlessly plan and execute the festivity with efficiency. While some devotees contributed materially, others engaged in acts of service, such as organising langar (community kitchen), assisting with shoe seva (shoe management), distributing langar, serving in Guruji’s Darbar and many others.
The connection between Hamletians and Guruji was visible as the sangat collectively chanted his mantra and sought his blessings. It is believed that the powerful mantra Jaap can destroy all negative spiritual effects and create a Kavach of protection over one’s family, and most obstacles in life can be resolved by doing the Jaap.
