Holi and Baisakhi Dhamaal @Vividha

The weather was lovely and perfect for playing floral Holi in March. Chandan teeka was applied to everyone’s forehead as a ritual. Vividha has been celebrating Holi with flower petals collected from the Sai temple ever since its inception. This floral Holi is very special and dear to everyone’s hearts since it is organic, eco-friendly, and blessed by Sai. During the celebration, executive committee members prepared titles for all members, some sweet, some chatpate, and some humorous. Everyone enjoyed when their titles were read out written on colorfully decorated cards. There were Holi dances and songs by super talented members, and the hot kachori aloo and gujhiya were delicious. Sunita Sharma prepared delicious kaanji for everyone. Women’s Day, which falls on the 8th of March, was celebrated, and members spoke about what women empowerment meant to them and the importance this day has in their lives. In April, Vividha broke all barriers and celebrated happiness by speaking about various festivals celebrated by different communities, such as Baisakhi, Eid, and Gangaur. They also spoke about April Fool’s Day, navratras, and Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions in giving life to their constitution. Beautiful dances, songs, bhajans, skits, etc., were presented by their talented members who always come forward to make the monthly meetings special. Moreover, Dr. Deepa Passi was invited to give a talk on “Eat Right, Be Bright,” a topic very apt for today’s busy schedules. Members enjoyed the talk and asked questions related to diet and well-being. The meeting ended with matar kulcha and jeera soda, and Suman treated everyone with ice cream to celebrate her birthday. In March and April, ladies were wished happy birthdays and were given tokens of love.
