A fire broke out in an apartment of Ivory Tower, in Retreat, on the morning of March 27th. Thankfully, thanks to the quick action of the security staff, housekeeping crew, gardeners, and some residents, the fire was contained to the single unit.
The fire department arrived promptly and assisted in extinguishing the blaze. The Security supervisor and gardener went beyond their call of duty to rescue the trapped house help from the balcony using a ladder.
The resident family sustained burns during the incident and are currently recovering from their injuries. The security supervisor also sustained minor burns but is on the road to recovery.
The fire highlighted the strong sense of community within Ivory Tower & Retreat. Staff, management, and residents all came together to fight the flames. In response to the incident, the management has decided to reward the staff and also explore areas of improvement in the disaster management protocols.
