This year , ‘Mahashivratri ‘ was celebrated on March 8 , Friday , across the country . This is considered one of the most sacred day of the year to worship Lord Shiva and the festival commemorates Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati ‘s marriage , which relates various cosmic events too.
Mandir was cleaned a day prior, and also beautifully decorated with flowers for next day celebration . From early morning devotees assembled in the mandir premise to offer puja and pouring water on‘ Shivlinga‘ . By noon the residents gathered in large numbers in a long queue for worship and seeking the blessing of almighty Shiva and devotees observed fast for entire day on that auspicious occasion.
In the afternoon ladies‘Bhajan mandali ‘ organised bhajan-kirtan and sang devotional songs. After ‘havan’ Prasad was distributed amongst all. Maha Shivratri is an entire day puja preparation and the rituals which performed until mid night and the residents participated with wholeheartedly and very enthusiastically.
