Saraswati Pujo at Ridgewood Estate

Once again, Saraswati Pujo was celebrated with much fanfare at Ridgewood. Although it was a weekday, the turnout was overwhelming. The day began with the customary rituals, followed by the partaking of the bhog by the residents. The grand evening witnessed a cultural program performed by the talented residents of Ridgewood. Refreshments, too, were served. It’s an occasion that brings all the residents together, especially the young generation. Saraswati Puja, or the worship of Goddess Saraswati, is celebrated across the world on Basant Panchami Day. This is the 5th day of the lunar fortnight on a full moon day and is known to mark the arrival of spring. Goddess Saraswati is the goddess of learning, wisdom, art, and culture. Hence, men and women, especially younger children, celebrate by wearing yellow (basant) attire and praying to the Goddess to give them knowledge and wisdom.

As always, we look forward to next year.
