Residents Meet MCG Commissioner

As the residents are aware, the MT Federation has been proactively trying to tackle the issue of street dogs in the colony. Few residents called for a meeting with the MCG Commissioner, so on 21st February 2024, the Estate Manager Mr.Charan Singh went to meet Narhari Singh Bangar, the MCG Commissioner. Upon his direction, a dog squad from MCG visited the colony two days later. They visited the streets on Birch Street and Park Drive, and few residents gathered to meet the squad and voice their complaint. The squad did an inspection of all the dogs and informed the residents that since all dogs are sterilized and vaccinated, there is nothing else that can be done further.

It is important to note that as per guidelines framed by the Animal Welfare Board of India, the street dogs cannot be removed from their territory. All other steps recommended in the guidelines, such as sterilization & vaccination, are being followed by the MT Federation. The Federation went a step further and in a very humane approach that took into account the genuine issues residents face due to few aggressive dogs, the Federation, with the help of dog-caretaker community, tied up with a dog boarding called Indielove and sent the aggressive ones for a 3 month boarding and training, to make them friendly towards humans.
