From Sunday, February 4th to Thursday, February 8th, 2024, the New Punjabi Mahasabha launched an appeal for donations of old, used, or unused clothes in usable condition for the needy and underprivileged. The initiative aimed to gather clothing items that could make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
Residents responded with immense generosity, contributing to the cause with their donations. The outpouring of support from the community was heartening, reflecting a spirit of compassion and solidarity.
The collected clothes were destined for the S.L. Trehan Charitable Trust, an organization dedicated to supporting the needy and underprivileged through its eight centres.
The executive committee of the New Punjabi Mahasabha expressed gratitude to all who donated generously, recognizing their invaluable contribution to the welfare of the less fortunate.
To facilitate donations, four collection centres were set up across the locality, each equipped with a Dropbox labelled “NPMS Donation.” These centres provided convenient locations for residents to drop off their contributions during specified hours.
The collection centres included: Mother Dairy, Madhya Marg, DLF-2 (8 am to 7 pm), Gauri Shankar Mandir, N Block, DLF-2, The Write Stuff, K-3/1, DLF-2 (11 am to 7 pm), American Montessori Public School, Casia Marg, DLF-2.
All residents were urged to donate generously, knowing that their contributions would bring warmth and comfort to those in need. Through such collective efforts, the community demonstrated its commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others, embodying the true spirit of unity and compassion.
