Republic Day @ Malibu Towne

On the 26th of January, Malibu Towne resonated with patriotic spirit as residents came together for a series of celebratory events. The day kicked off with a flag hoisting ceremony by the Malibu Federation at Palm Wood Park, by a senior resident Mrs. Dhawan. The gathering continued with sweet treats and tea, fostering a sense of unity among the diverse Malibu Federation RWAs.

Around 10:30 am another flag hoisting took place at Starwood by lady residents, organized by the Star Wood RWA . The residents indulged in snacks, enhancing the communal bond within the neighbourhood followed by performances by kids.

At Central Park, MTRWA orchestrated a vibrant celebration, featuring flag hoisting by Senior Citizens Madhu Rohtagi and Sudha Aggarwal at 10:30 am. The Security Team, adorned in ceremonial uniforms, stood proudly in formation near the national flag. Before the hoisting, residents, young and old, took a ceremonial round of the park with echoes of “Vande Mataram” and “Jai Hind.” The festivities continued with tea, snacks, and sweets, fostering camaraderie among neighbours.

In the spirit of community engagement,  Manita Jain energized the atmosphere with sports activities in Central Park around 11:15 am. Residents enthusiastically participated in various sports, from modified lemon race to three-legged races. The highlight was a delightful musical chair competition for senior citizens, adding joy to the event. For the younger ones, a balloon-popping game brought laughter and excitement. The sunny winter weather encouraged widespread participation from WW-CW and some Plot residents.

MTRWA thoughtfully provided a brunch of freshly made pooris, aloo sabzi, and halwa, alleviating the burden of the afternoon cooking for the women after all the sports activities. The day concluded with the distribution of medals to winners and chocolates to kids, leaving everyone with smiles and a sense of shared accomplishment. The community walked away from the event, having spent a fulfilling day together.
