After an ongoing tussle between MCG and contractors, the sweepers finally got back to work in the first week of January. Even though the strike had been going on & off for six months, the Federation ensured that the services went on uninterrupted. Better wages, entry on payrolls and other benefits are some of the demands the sweepers have from the authorities. We hope they are met and the workers are given their deserved dues.
