A few years ago, Noida Authority had proposed laying of our Sector power cables underground. The then-RWA president had requested them to hold their decision probably because it would have caused too much digging in the entire Sector and the roads that were then well laid would have become a mess.
Subsequently, many RWAs have been requesting the NA to put the power cables underground to improve the stability of power distribution and also to make the Sector look neater without the jumble of messy hanging wires. But NA refused due to lack of funds.
Now Noida Authority has once again agreed to the laying of LT power cables underground. Our RWA was asked for residents’ consent on the following two points:
1. Post underground cabling, new LT distribution boxes will be installed as per requirement to which residents would have no objection.
2. The expenses toward cabling from the new LT distribution box to the premises of the residents will be borne by the concerned resident.
Residents who did not respond to the above two requests within the stipulated time, were treated as confirmations. RWA’s point was that it cannot afford to skip the opportunity this time as it is the only solution to a stable power supply for which all the successive RWA ECs have been asking. If it loses out on this opportunity now, it may not come later.
