Santa’s Jolly Entry Coming with His Sack of Gifts Thrilled the Happy Kids
A delightfully rollicking Children’s Christmas Carnival extravaganza themed ‘Christmas with a Cause’ was organized and presented by the DC(WA)Club on Dec 24. Some 300 members and guest kids dressed in their party best came generously carrying gifts chocolates and goodies for distribution to underprivileged children were deposited in the Gratitude boxes placed under the gorgeously decorated Gratitude Christmas tree at the entrance, and led onto the festively red and green balloon decorated lawns to enjoy a day of organized fun filled activities everywhere.
In the children’s area Saguna Puri with her volunteers had planned and organized a variety of various enjoyable crafts and activities, magic shows tatoos face painting games thrilling train rides etc, that kept kids happy and busy throughout was hugely popular and thoroughly enjoyed.
Whilst on the main lawn members of the Delhi Chamber Choir conducted by Nadezda Balyan presented and performed Christmas carols solos and duets captivatingly to a very appreciative audience of young and elders. The choir was organized by its member Akshar Bhan… Not to be outdone the popular resident Def Col Jammers performed next jamming with the delighted kids to popular Christmas numbers.
Hitting the ground next a young children’s Rock band ‘Ecstacy’ led by young Raunak Bhagat of defcol and his band mates rocked the lawn in a power filled brain blowing performance to huge applause.
With delicious culinary treats of sandwiches, pizzas, cakes, brownies, popcorn etc and plenty of munchies eat and enjoy on hand and tummies full.
It was soon time for Santa ‘s jolly entry coming in with his sack of gifts cheering hugging the kids distributing sweets and Christmas presents to the wide eyed thrilled and happy kids. It was a day well spent enjoyed and made memorable for them which continued till sundown.
Thanks to the collective efforts of the organizers Saguna Singh for her theme idea and implementation. Akshar Bhan for organizing all the art and music. Arnav Lal of Patisserie for cakes and brownies, the volunteer Moms. And above all the internal support and organization of the Club, its President Veena Khanna, HGS Vippin Bhasin, club management and staff, all who helped to make it a most enjoyable and an unforgettable Christmas event for the kids with their initiative enthusiasm and member participation.
