As December unfolded its wintry charm, the two churches that stand back-to-back in Sector-50 embraced the festive spirit of joy and camaraderie for its congregation during the Christmas celebrations of December 2023. The air was filled with anticipation; both the church radiated warmth with illumination, weeks before the Christmas day that displayed the sentiments of love and togetherness that define this joyous season.
The Christmas festivities commenced with a midnight mass that drew Christian families from distant sectors as well. The church’s ornate interior was adorned with twinkling lights, vibrant poinsettias, and a magnificent nativity scene that captured the essence of the holy night. The flickering candles and the soft glow of fairy lights created a serene ambiance, setting the stage for a heartfelt celebration.
The choir, comprising talented members from the congregation, serenaded the gathering with soul-stirring carols. The melodic tunes echoed through the hallowed halls, spreading the message of peace and goodwill.
This part of Sector-50, in E block where the two churches are located, was the centre of attraction and a must-visit place for non-Christian families too. Lines of cars were seen parked on either side of the lanes leading to the church. Families stepped out and walked excitedly towards the illuminated church, looked at the grand decoration and were seen clicking selfies and family photographs in the backdrop of the decorated corners.
During this week of celebration, once a year, the nearby houses and societies did not mind much the rush in the lanes which they have been seeing each December end ever since they moved to Sector-50.
